On an island in the Gothenburg archipelago, called Öckerö, a new office building has been designed and built with the support of StruEngineers.
Located just off the Western coast of Sweden, the finished building is expected to host tenants such as lawyers, real estate brokers and shipping companies.
Support with Structural Calculations
StruEngineers provided support in the form of structural calculations for stability and all precast elements included in the design of the building.
Design work started in January 2019 and finished in May 2019, helping to facilitate the swift completion of the project.
Using IMPACT for Modelling and Project Co-ordination
The entire building was modelled in IMPACT, including models for both steel elements and stairs.
The project can then be co-ordinated from a single database, allowing for the production of fabrication drawings for all precast concrete elements in the building. This included hollow core slabs, solid slabs, solid walls and sandwich wall panels.
Through this 3D model, accurate control over production planning and erection on site was achieved.
With support from StruEngineers increasing efficiency throughout the stages of this precast project, the building was erected over the course of 3-4 weeks in June 2019.
