Industry – University interactions should take place more often in today’s dynamic business scenario. While universities make it a point to keep their syllabus updated, it is simply not possible for them to keep pace with the fast-changing trends in the industry. Companies, therefore, should take initiative, reach out to students, and keep them abreast of the prevailing trends and new developments in their respective business sectors. StruSoft AB, and StruEngineers India did precisely that and delivered guest lectures on Structural Engineering software and Precast technology to the Civil Engineering students at MIT WPU University at Pune, India, on the 6th of September 2022.
Precast construction is not known much in India yet and the Civil Engineering curriculum does not cover this technology in depth; so, this was a good opportunity to familiarize the students with the concept.
StruSoft AB was represented by Mr. Dennis Kristensen – CEO, Mr. Peter Karlsson – Business Unit Director while the StruEngineers team consisted of Mr. Sam Shiltagh – CEO, StruEngineers – Sweden, Mr. Suhas Mohol – MD, StruEngineers India and Mr. Varunkumar Vyas – Sr. Structural Engineer, StruEngineers India. The session began with a brief introduction of both the companies, followed by in-depth presentations of our structural engineering software FEM Design and our precast software platform IMPACT. Students were shown how the Cloud feature of these platforms can be leveraged to work on projects anywhere across the globe without having to leave office. Mr. Pravin Patil – Sr. Director CIAP-MIT-WPU, Pune presided over the function from the University side and around 120 students attended the event. The session lasted for around two and a half hours and concluded with a free interaction between the guest speakers, the college faculty, and the students.
